I. Организационный момент
Good morning, boys and girls! I am happy to greet all the participants of our geographical club "Discovery". If you look at the blackboard, you will see that the topic of our lesson today is "Minsk". Today I suggest you to travel around the capital of Belarus. Try to forget that we are at the lesson. Let's have a friendly talk. I would like you to make your own project, a collage and say some words concerning your own ideas about interesting places of Minsk.

Welcome to Minsk!!!!
Pupil 1. Minsk is the capital of Belarus. It was founded in 1067.Its official birthday is March 3,1067. During the Second World War, Minsk was destroyed and not many old buildings have survived.
Pupil 2. Many writers , artists , actors and scientists have lived and worked in Minsk. The oldest place in Minsk is the Troitskoye Suburb. There are a lot of cafes ,small shops and museums there.
Pupil 3. Verkhny Gorod.
Verkhny Gorod is one of the most interesting parts of the capital. There are a lot of squares, churches and beautiful old buildings in Verkhny Gorod.
Pupil 4. Green Minsk.
There are a lot of parks, gardens, squares in Minsk. The favourite places of Green Minsk are the Botanik Garden, Gorky Central Children Park, Mikhailovsky Small Park.
Pupil 5. There are a lot of museums in Minsk. The most popular is the National Fine Arts museum.
This museum has got the works by famous Russian artist Shishkin, Serov, Perov, Levitan.
Pupil 6. There are more than 30 theatres in Minsk. The most beautiful theatre is the Opera and Ballet House.
There are a lot of churches and Cathedral in Minsk.
Pupil 7. New Minsk.
When tourists come to Minsk , they see the new railway station. The building is very modern and beautiful.

When tourists come to Minsk , they see the new railway station. The building is very modern and beautiful. It is located in the centre of Minsk .The station was built in 1873. During the Second World War The Central Railway Station was destroyed . It was rebuild in 1945-1946.The new building of Minsk Railway Station was built in 2001. The station is served by Minsk Metro at Plioshchad and Lenin Station. The Station is also served by the tramway and by the trolleybus.
